A reporter from the Economic Daily visited a number of state-owned bank outlets and found that many bank users have expressed a keen interest in digital renminbi wallets.

  How to open?

The first step is to submit an application.

First, the branch business staff will display a QR code, scan it with a mobile phone, and then enter the digital RMB wallet opening interface; secondly, click the “Apply for” button on the interface to enter the application interface; finally, the applicant fills in his own basics according to the prompts Information, sign the "Confidentiality Commitment" and submit an application.

  The second step is to download the digital renminbi wallet app.

Approximately two days after the above application is submitted, if it passes the review of the People’s Bank of China, the applicant can re-enter the applet used in the application, select the Apple system or Android system to download the APP, then enter the APP to register a digital RMB account and set the wallet payment password , Wallet name, etc.

  According to customer types, digital renminbi wallets can be divided into personal digital wallets and public digital wallets.

Taking the former as an example, the same natural person can only open one real-name wallet, which can be divided into four categories according to actual use needs, with differentiated restrictions on payment limits and holding balances.

  "In December 2017, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China received the digital renminbi research and development test task." The person in charge of the relevant business department of the bank told reporters that at present, ICBC has established core businesses covering the entire life cycle management of digital renminbi issuance, circulation, and cancellation. The platform has completed the system research and development of all basic functions such as personal and public wallet opening, payment, exchange, and inquiry.

At the same time, in order to effectively prevent risks, ICBC will continue to improve its risk management framework and implement digital RMB compliance and anti-money laundering regulatory requirements.
