The CAEXPO is an international economic and trade event co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the economic and trade authorities of the governments of 10 ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretariat. So far, it has been held in Nanning for 17 sessions.
The CAEXPO Secretariat stated that 2021 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN and the year of sustainable development and cooperation between China and ASEAN. The 18th CAEXPO held in this context is of great significance.
The current China-ASEAN Expo will promote China-ASEAN friendly cooperation to a new level in the new development stage, and promote China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation to achieve new results in the post-epidemic period.
The CAEXPO Secretariat stated that the 18th CAEXPO planned a series of important activities to "enhance political mutual trust", including the 30th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN, and the commemoration of the establishment of diplomatic relations in Chinese, China, Laos, and China; As the global epidemic situation gradually improves, under the premise of ensuring the safety of epidemic prevention, we will strive to promote the delegation of ASEAN countries to attend offline in China.
The exhibition covers an area of 104,000 square meters, with five topics including commodity trade, investment cooperation, advanced technology, service trade, and charming city, as well as high-level forums such as the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Conference.
During the conference, the opening ceremony of the "Charming City" of Laos, the theme country’s leaders and Chinese entrepreneurs will be held, and the promotion of Pakistan’s special partners will be held to help build the Pakistan-China-ASEAN "Golden Trade Triangle".
This year's China-ASEAN Expo will mainly invite enterprises from RCEP member countries to participate in the exhibition, organize RCEP-related seminars and trainings, and promote the deepening of commodity trade, investment cooperation and service trade exchanges between Chinese and ASEAN enterprises and enterprises from other RCEP member countries, and provide pragmatism for the implementation of RCEP platform.

Prior to May, the CAEXPO Secretariat and the Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Agency held the first online promotion of the 18th CAEXPO, attracting more than 150 Malaysian companies to participate.
This month the CAEXPO Secretariat and the Lao Consulate General in Nanning jointly organized a special promotion on investment in Laos.
