As travel demand continues to decline due to the effects of the new coronavirus, the industry group "Japan Association of Travel Agents" has created a guideline for infection control, such as when tour participants are asked to undergo a PCR test in advance.

The association wants to put in place a system that allows you to travel with peace of mind.

This guide is based on the results of a monitor tour conducted by the Japan Association of Travel Agents in April after undergoing PCR tests in advance.

In the questionnaire after the trip, about 80% of the participants answered that it is better to have a PCR test, and if you want to have the test done in advance as a guide, in principle, collect the sample from 3 days before the tour. From two weeks ago, the travel agency has included specific steps in planning the tour, such as encouraging participants to live a life that avoids the risk of infection.

The association wants travel agencies to use this guide as an infection control measure and to put in place a system that allows them to travel with peace of mind.

At the press conference, Executive Secretary Koji Ikehata said, "We will work together with the industry so that people can enjoy traveling with peace of mind, and we will review the contents of the guide as needed."
