According to RBC, respondents consider a decent salary to be the main criterion for financial independence.

It is noted that the majority of Russians consider it necessary to have an average income of 74.9 thousand rubles.

The highest estimate of a decent salary, which would allow one to be independent, was given by Muscovites (104.4 thousand rubles), residents of St. Petersburg (98.5 thousand rubles) and Vladivostok (92.7 thousand rubles).

The study was conducted in June 2020 in 37 Russian cities with a population of over 500 thousand according to a sample reflecting the socio-demographic composition of the urban population.

Previously, analysts found out what kind of salary can force Russian residents to refuse vacations. 

On average in Russia, as analysts say, employees agree to give up vacation for a monthly salary of 413.6 thousand rubles.

Residents of Moscow are ready not to go on vacation for 405.1 thousand rubles a month, and St. Petersburg - for 418.3 thousand rubles.

In total, more than 5 thousand service users from all regions of Russia took part in the study.
