<Anchor> The

case of the Customs Appraisal and Classification Agency in which a ghost office building with 17 billion won in tax was built and the employees took advantage of the special supply of apartments. This happened because several national organizations did not even properly check the government announcements. The government requested an investigation belatedly, but it has not yet been decided whether or not to cancel the special attack.

<Reporter> The

Customs Assessment and Classification Agency left a ghost office building with only a special supply of apartments in Sejong City to 49 employees.

In a notice made in 2005 by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Korea Customs Service and its affiliated agency, Gwanpyeongwon, were listed as exempted organizations, but it was found that the Korea Customs Service, the Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Agency that granted the building permit, and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, which gave the budget, did not confirm this.

The Happiness Administration later confirmed the notice in the process of reviewing the building permit and raised the issue with the Customs Service, but the situation could not be rectified.

They only heard the customs office saying, "The Ministry of Public Administration and Security is positively reviewing the revision of the notice," and gave the building permit without even checking whether the notice was actually revised.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security informed the Korea Customs Service that it was not subject to the change in the notice, but the Korea Customs Service did not communicate it.

In the meantime, 49 of the 82 Kwanpyeongwon employees won the special attack.

Ten people have already moved in or sold, and nine have given charter rentals.

The remaining 30 are waiting to move in.

The Office of Government Policy Coordination, which was in charge of the investigation, commissioned the investigation to the National Investigation Headquarters.

[Han Kyung-pil/Public Service Officer, Government Coordination Office: The statements are different, so additional investigation is necessary. (And) they gave out building permits without sufficient review, suggesting these circumstances and requesting an investigation… .] Under the

Housing Act, if a house is acquired by fraudulent or fraudulent means, the supply may be cancelled.

The Office of Government Policy Coordination announced that it would decide whether to cancel the special attack after reviewing an external law firm.
