China News Service, Beijing, June 10 (Reporter Yan Xiaohong) China Automobile Dealers Association released May 2021 "Auto Dealer Inventory" survey results on the 10th: The comprehensive inventory coefficient of auto dealers in May was 1.51, a year-on-year decrease of 2.6%, month-on-month A decrease of 3.8%.

Among them, the inventory coefficient of high-end luxury and imported brands was 1.43, a decrease of 4.7% from the previous month; the inventory coefficient of joint venture brands was 1.55, a decrease of 1.9% from the previous month; the inventory coefficient of self-owned brands was 1.59, a decrease of 8.1% from the previous month.

According to the analysis of the China Automobile Dealers Association, the main reasons for the decline in dealer inventory are: in the short term, chip shortages, manufacturers adjust production structure, reduce the production of slow-selling cars, optimize dealer inventory structure, and reduce overall inventory levels.

However, the supply of hot-selling models is tight and the new car order cycle is prolonged. In order to ensure a certain amount of inventory, dealers need to continue to order more. In the future, dealer inventory may increase.

According to the China Automobile Dealers Association, the June college entrance examination season will drive certain car sales, but insufficient terminal demand is still a major problem.

There is a shortage of chips, dealer inventories continue to be low, preferential activities are recalled, and manufacturers’ promotional policies have been recalled. Sales in June are expected to decrease from May.

The China Automobile Dealers Association recommends that dealers should rationally estimate actual market demand based on actual conditions and reasonably control inventory levels to prevent excessive inventory pressure from causing operational risks.

At the same time, don't slacken epidemic prevention and continue to implement epidemic prevention and control measures.
