  The "Report on China's Foreign Trade Situation (Spring 2021)" believes that the current uneven vaccination progress of various countries, coupled with the mutation of the virus, the global epidemic has rebounded, threatening the foundation for the stable recovery of world economy and trade.

In particular, the large-scale outbreak of the epidemic in India has dragged down the country's economic recovery and affected the global supply chain of shipping, medicine, textiles, financial services and other industries.

  The report pointed out that various countries are still adopting a number of trade protection measures, protectionism and unilateralism are on the rise, the industrial chain supply chain layout tends to be regionalized, localized, and short-chain, and the continuous and stable recovery of global economy and trade is facing challenges.

Under this circumstance, the external environment facing China's foreign trade development is still complicated, and challenges and opportunities coexist.

  However, the report also pointed out that there are still many favorable conditions for the steady and quality increase of China’s import and export volume: the domestic economy is showing a steady recovery, the main economic indicators are recovering steadily, and the long-term economic fundamentals remain unchanged; the development resilience of foreign trade companies has increased and they have been cultivated A large number of industry enterprises with international competitiveness have been produced, and they have accumulated experience in market development and international operation; various policies to stabilize foreign trade have also boosted market confidence.

  The Ministry of Commerce stated that in the future, it will make every effort to stabilize the basic foreign trade and maintain policy continuity, stability and sustainability.
