The yen exchange rate as of 5 pm was JPY 109.42 to JPY 43 per dollar, which was JPY 76 higher and the dollar weaker than last weekend.



On the other hand, against the euro, it was 17 yen from 133.13 yen per euro, which was 32 yen higher and the euro weaker than last weekend.



Also, the euro was 1 euro = 1.2167 to 68 dollars against the dollar.



Market officials said, "The movement to sell the dollar was predominant from the view that large-scale monetary easing in the United States will continue for the time being and the rise in interest rates will be suppressed. The yen's appreciation and the dollar's depreciation did not progress at this rate. "
