167 tunnels across the entire China-Laos railway line open to operation at the end of the year

So far, all 167 tunnels of the China-Laos Railway have been completed, laying a solid foundation for the opening and operation at the end of this year.

　　The Jingzhai Tunnel is located in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with a total length of 9.5 kilometers.

The tunnel traverses the Lancang River fault zone and follows the Lancang River. The maximum buried depth is 711 meters. The geological structure is complex, the surrounding rock is broken, rich in water, and uneven in soft and hard.

It is a high-risk tunnel with the characteristics of large deformation of soft rock, water and mud inrush, and high ground stress.

　　There are 167 tunnels on the entire line of the China-Laos Railway, with a total length of more than 590 kilometers, accounting for 63% of the total length of the line.

Since the start of construction, the builders have opened up the longest stable tunnel on the entire line, the Mengyang tunnel to protect Asian elephants through the off-road elephant valley, and the friendship tunnel connecting China and Laos...

Ma Youliang, deputy commander of the South Yunnan Railway Construction Headquarters said with emotion.
