The first LNG-powered ship to pass the lock after implementation.
As a ship fuel, LNG (liquefied natural gas) has many advantages such as low carbon and environmental protection, low operating cost, high safety factor, and compliance with international emission standards.
In order to promote the green development of the Yangtze River shipping, in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Transport to promote the application of LNG clean energy in the Yangtze River shipping, the Yangtze River Shipping Administration has organized trial operation of LNG-powered ships to pass the Three Gorges locks from June 1, 2019.
According to the two-year trial operation, after comprehensive evaluation and research, it is decided that from June 1, 2021, the LNG-powered ship will officially operate through the Three Gorges ship lock.
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Three Gorges-Gezhouba Water Control Navigation Dispatch Regulations", LNG-powered ships have priority over the same types of ships to pass the locks.
During the period of "New Yangtze River 26007" passing the Three Gorges ship lock, the Navigation Command Center of the Three Gorges Navigation Administration of the Yangtze River paid close attention to the preparation of the ship's rolling pre-plan, security inspection plan and dispatch plan, and strictly implemented the Ministry of Transport and the Yangtze River Navigation Administration on the LNG-powered ship passing the lock The relevant requirements of the ship, the implementation of relevant preferential policies, priority arrangements for the gate; the duty staff of the Three Gorges Ship Lock Management Office tracked the ship’s entry and exit status throughout the entire process, carefully asked whether the LNG storage pressure value was normal, and reminded the captain and chief engineer to operate in person and follow the safety of the gate.
