On June 4, the second phase (west extension) project of Beijing Metro Capital Airport Line, the section from Dongzhimen to Beixinqiao realized the opening of the left line.
The west extension project of the Capital Airport Line has a total length of about 1.822km, starting at Dongzhimen Station, laying underground along Dongzhimen Inner Street, and ending at Beixinqiao Station.
The entire project consists of one station and one section, and a transfer station is set up at Beixinqiao Station to transfer to Metro Line 5.
After the completion of the west extension of the Capital Airport Line, the passenger flow pressure at Dongzhimen Station will be greatly relieved and the overall system operation capability of the Airport Line will be improved.
The west extension of the Capital Airport Line is expected to open to traffic at the end of 2021. By then, people can go directly to Beijing Capital International Airport from Beixinqiao Station.
