“The Russian Ministry of Agriculture assesses the current situation in the poultry market as stable and comfortable for a further increase in production volumes and does not expect a shortage of eggs in the domestic market,” the message says.

According to the ministry, producer prices for the product have dropped significantly over the past few weeks.

So, as of May 26, eggs of the first category fell by 19.5% over the month, and the second - by 10.9%.

The reasons for such dynamics are the slowdown or cessation of the growth of prices for grain crops and sunflower meal, as well as the seasonal decrease in the cost of heat and electricity.

New measures to support the industry will help maintain a stable situation in the long term, the ministry said.

Earlier, "Vedomosti", referring to the participants in the meeting in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, wrote that producers of chicken eggs were asked to help resolve the issue of a "critical decline" in purchase prices for products.
