  “Dunhuang’s current annual new energy generation capacity is three times the total annual electricity consumption of the local area.” In Chen Xiaojian’s view, Dunhuang’s geographical advantage is obvious.   Chen Xiaojian said that Dunhuang solar energy and solar thermal resources can effectively promote the development of wind and solar complementary integrated projects in the Hexi Corridor area where Gansu has the most abundant solar and wind energy resources.

Dunhuang can use the thermal power and energy storage facilities in Xinjiang Power Grid and Gansu Power Grid to develop multi-energy complementary applications.
