Onkyo, an audio maker that is expected to be delisted due to poor management, has agreed to sell its mainstay "home AV business" such as speakers and amplifiers to a joint venture between Sharp and an American company.

The sale amount is said to be 3.3 billion yen.

Onkyo, which is headquartered in Osaka, is in a slump, and it is expected that it will be delisted at the end of July based on the standards of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, as it will be insolvent for the second consecutive term in the settlement of accounts for the fiscal year ending March. I am announcing.

Under these circumstances, Onkyo announced that it has agreed to sell its main "home AV business" such as speakers and amplifiers to a joint venture formed by Sharp and VOXX, which manufactures and sells audio in the United States.

The sale is scheduled for July 1st, and the amount is about 3.3 billion yen.

In the future, Sharp will produce "ONKYO" brand products, and VOXX will continue to sell them.

Onkyo wants to improve its financial position with the funds obtained from the sale of its business and focus on OEM production of speakers for PCs and TVs of other companies.
