Consumer comments that they tried it first when ordering food with the delivery app had a big impact. Because of this, there are many fake reviews, and the court punished the man who paid for the restaurant and wrote the fake review, sentenced to jail.

Mr. A, who wrote a false review on the delivery application, the People of Delivery, was sentenced to 10 months in prison at the first trial, and the appeal was dismissed, and his sentence was confirmed as it was.

Mr. A was commissioned by dozens of restaurants nationwide, pretending to be a real consumer, and writing a fake review of the restaurant before living in prison.

In about two and a half years since 2017, A has written 35,000 false reviews.

We received about 300,000 won from restaurants for every 100 false reviews.

[People of Delivery: It is a part that may cause unfair competition or cause the most damage to consumers. I think that you should be aware of it as a crime (I think.)]

It is an evaluation that it is unusual for the court to imprison a false reviewer.

It is analyzed that as the impact of reviews on sales in delivery apps is absolutely growing, fake reviews are judged to cause great damage to the majority of good restaurant owners and consumers.

When choosing a restaurant, 42.6% of consumers value the number and content of reviews most.

On the Internet, review manipulations are frequent enough that you can often find articles saying that you are looking for a part-time job to write a false review.

In 2019, there were estimated to be 20,000 false reviews, but as of September last year, it was surveyed that it exceeded 100,000.

Delivery app operators have taken a tough response by developing an AI system that filters out false reviews and even creating a dedicated monitoring team.
