The attendance last Thursday of the Vice President and Minister of Labor,

Yolanda Díaz

, at the official presentation of

Conpymes

, the business platform that aspires to

challenge

CEOE and Cepyme for

a position in the social dialogue with the Government and unions is interpreted by the employers as a "pressure measure" that does not distract them from their activities. Díaz accompanied

Begoña Gómez

, wife of President Pedro Sánchez, in what the businessmen considered explicit support for organizations that question their representation in social dialogue.

"The presence of the vice president and the president's wife inviting the creation of this platform makes a clear and evident reading that it is a measure of pressure for social dialogue", said this morning the president of Cepyme,

Gerardo Cuerva

, during the presentation of the conference 'Situation of the SME: reopening without recovery'.

"We are dedicated to defending SMEs, which today are having a hard time. Others have other intentions and different paths. We are a business organization, with more than 40 years old, that defends the interests of SMEs, we have more than 3,000 associations and what we are not going to do is change course due to external pressures that may arise, "Cuerva added.

The presence at the institutional act of birth of Conpymes occurred at a delicate moment in

the negotiations to extend the current aid and ERTE scheme, which expires next Monday, May 31

. Cepyme, together with CEOE, negotiates this morning with the Government and the unions that extension in the midst of a tense environment due to the conditions proposed by the Ministry of Social Security and due to the fact that, if an agreement is not reached this afternoon , the Executive must convene an extraordinary Council of Ministers to approve it, with or without the support of the social agents.

In this sense, the president of the CEOE,

Antonio Garamendi,

has warned the Government that the negotiation to extend the temporary employment regulation files (ERTE) until after the summer "is not a market" and that what needs to be done is to extend the decree that regulates them as it is, reports Europa Press.

"It is incomprehensible that offers and not offers are being presented to us, this is not a market. It is a serious negotiation," he criticized.

"I think the unions have the same opinion: an extension is an extension, there are 20 more minutes with the same rules of the game and with the same ball, not with other rules and another ball," said the CEOE leader, who added that ,

if there is

no social agreement, the government will have to legislate as it deems appropriate.

The CEOE leader has stressed that what companies want is to open and that, for example, hotels will be able to do so when tourists start to arrive.

Meanwhile, many will remain closed, and will need to have their workers in ERTE.

For this reason, it has defended the extension of the current decree until September and then, after that date, sit down again to assess what should be done with the ERTE from then on.
