All Nippon Airways has begun a demonstration experiment of a digital certificate that allows you to check vaccination history etc. on your smartphone when boarding, in order to lead to the resumption of international flights where the number of flights continues to be significantly reduced due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

The experiment was conducted at Haneda Airport, and an app called "IATA Travel Pass" developed by the "IATA" = International Air Transport Association, which is a member of airlines around the world, was used.

With this app, PCR test results and vaccination history are displayed on the screen of your smartphone, which acts as a digital certificate indicating that you meet the immigration requirements of your visit.

The test results are sent directly from the designated medical institution to the app, and users cannot write them on their own.

A 54-year-old office worker who cooperated with the experiment said, "I am glad that the registration method was easy and the boarding procedure was smooth."

All Nippon Airways Director Tadashi Matsushita said, "The time will come when international flight operations will return to normal, so we would like to work with the government to put digital certificates into practical use as soon as possible and create an environment where people can travel with peace of mind." I will.

Regarding digital certificates, ANA and Japan Airlines are also experimenting with an application called "Common Pass" developed by the World Economic Forum and others, aiming for practical use.
