A hospital sent a report saying that it had suffered damage due to a carrier that blocked medical information text messages as spam text messages from the carrier.

The Communications Dispute Mediation Committee told me to compensate for the damages because there was a problem with the service, but reporter Ki-tae Kim reported that the news agency was not accepting this.

Lee Joo-il, who runs an oriental medicine clinic in Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, sent over 4,000 text messages from a medical treatment information group to patients in July of last year.

It was said that they would be treated on Sundays, but they also paid a fee of 22 won per text message and stated that they were advertising.

Nevertheless, there were few patients who visited on Sunday, and to find out why, text messages were normally sent to KT and LG U+ subscribers, but all SKT subscribers were blocked.

In response to the hospital's question, SKT explained that "the text was deleted by the spam filtering system."

However, it did not reveal the specific reason why individual consumers set spam to block unwanted texts, and why they were collectively filtered out at the mobile operator level.

[Lee Joo-il/Oriental doctor: Filtering was performed because of the phrase advertisement. It can be filtered because there is something like a laugh sign. The department does not provide details. So please stop. This is about this.] The

hospital filed a complaint, and the Communications Dispute Mediation Committee decided on a mediation plan stating that "SKT should pay 4.8 million won worth of damage relief amount."

It was the reason "there was a problem with the management of the spam filtering service."

SKT also rejected the mediation proposal, and the hospital went into a civil lawsuit.

There is no legal basis to dispose of these legitimate texts if your carrier incorrectly blocks them.
