When ordering hamburgers with the

delivery app, it is common to see stores that offer free delivery. However, research has shown that most of them sell more expensive than stores instead of having no delivery charge. The delivery cost is actually included in the food price.

When I ordered a hamburger with a smartphone or computer, I asked how much I knew the delivery fee.

[Park Jae-gyu/Seoul Mapo-gu: (Delivery fee) I'm not sure exactly, and I'm expecting it to be around 1,000 won or 2,000 won. I know it is the difference in delivery charges depending on the distance.]

There are many cases where the delivery charges are not separately displayed in apps of fast food companies.

Anything above the minimum order amount of around 15,000 won is promoted as free shipping.

However, as a result of the Korea Consumer Agency survey, fast food companies are selling almost all of their delivery products at a price of 1,000 won higher than the store price.

When the number of products delivered increases, the delivery fee is repeatedly calculated and the money the consumer pays is also lower. Even with free shipping, the delivery fee is actually included in the product price and charged to the consumer.

[Song Seon-deok / Head of Korea Consumer Agency Market Research Bureau: (To the hamburger franchise company) We advised to clearly inform the main terms of the transaction. In addition, the delivery platform operators are advised to clearly indicate in the app that the store price and the delivery price are different.

It is pointed out that in order to promote free shipping, it is necessary to consider ensuring that the benefits are delivered to consumers accurately.
