As the NBKI marketing director Alexei Volkov noted in an interview with RT, in general, there has been an increase in the number of borrowers in the age categories from 40 to 49 years old, as well as from 60 to 65 years and older, while the share of citizens under 40 years old has decreased.

“Thus, the decrease in the share of borrowers aged 25 to 29 years was 0.7 percentage points, and from 30 to 39 years old - 0.4 pp. At the same time, the dynamics of the share of citizens under 25 years old (an increase of 0, 3 pp) and borrowers from 50 to 59 (a decrease of 0.2 pp) slightly “softened” the growth rates of the average age of a borrower for retail loans, ”he explained.

Volkov also added that the difference between the "youngest" and the "oldest" regions of Russia in terms of the average age of borrowers is not so great - less than five years.

“On average, the most“ age ”borrowers live in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (45.0 years), the Magadan Region (44.7 years), the Altai Territory (44.6 years), as well as in the Kostroma Region (44.5 years) and the Republic Khakassia (44.3 years).

In turn, the "youngest" average age was noted among borrowers living in the Nenets Autonomous District (40.6 years), the Republic of Dagestan (40.8 years), the Chuvash Republic (42.0 years), as well as in the Kaluga and Bryansk regions and the Republic of Mari El (in all - for 42.1 years) ", - concluded the interlocutor of RT.

Earlier it was reported that in the first quarter of 2021, the leaders in the number of mortgage loans issued in the country were Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Sverdlovsk region.
