Chinanews Client Beijing, May 18th (Reporter Wu Tao) Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that 90 apps have been removed from the shelves.

But something strange happened, and some apps can still be downloaded and used normally.

In addition, relevant state departments have clarified the scope of necessary personal information for 39 common types of apps, which will be formally implemented on May 1.

However, some apps still go their own way, even asking for facial information, otherwise they won’t be available.

Did you bump into it?

Time to be removed!

Not off the shelf?

Recently, a reporter from Chinanews.com discovered during an investigation that some apps that have been called down by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to be removed can still be downloaded and used normally.

APPs notified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to be removed can still be downloaded and used normally.

On the Apple App Store, reporters can search for "Tianya", "Damai", "Maimai", "Tuniu", and "VIP training partner". All of them can be searched and downloaded and used normally.

On May 13, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that 90 apps that infringed on user rights were removed from the shelves. It specifically mentioned that five companies, Tianya Community, Damai, Tuniu Travel, VIP Training, and Maimai, had repeated similar problems in different versions of the APP. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will be directly removed from the shelves.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also pointed out that relevant application stores should immediately organize the removal of the application software in the list after the publication of this notice, strictly implement the main responsibility of the enterprise, and check the shelves.

The official website provides download channels such as QR codes.

But in fact, some apps that have been notified to be removed can be downloaded normally in some app stores, and their official websites also provide download channels.

The reporter tried to check the official websites of Maimai, Damai, Tuniu, Tianya, etc., all of which provide APP to download the QR code, which can also be successfully downloaded.

APP claiming rights is still wayward, I want birthday and face information

The State Cyberspace Administration and other four departments issued the "Regulations on the Scope of Necessary Personal Information for Common Types of Mobile Internet Applications" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") in March this year, clarifying the scope of necessary personal information for 39 common types of apps, and released them on May 1. It will come into effect today.

When investigating, the reporter found that there are still APP claims to this day.

For example, the Nike APP must collect the user’s birthday information when registering, otherwise it cannot be registered to use the APP.

However, the "Regulations" show that necessary personal information for online shopping does not include birthday information.

Some apps are still excessively claiming rights, requiring users to provide information such as academic qualifications, gender, and age, otherwise they will not be able to "next step."

Banyu Picture Book APP requires the user's gender, birthday and other information when registering, otherwise it cannot be registered for use.

Yidui APP also needs the user's educational background information, otherwise it cannot be registered for use.

The "Regulations" show that these are non-essential personal information ranges.

Zhenai.com APP requires the user's real name, ID information, and even face information.

The APP prompts that it detects that you are replacing the device, please perform face authentication, and you can use it normally after authentication.

In fact, the "Regulations" clarify that the necessary personal information for dating apps includes: the mobile phone number of the registered user; the gender, age, and marital status of the loved one.

There is no information such as face recognition.

The "Regulations" also clarify that APP shall not refuse users to use its basic functions and services because users do not agree to provide non-essential personal information.

But at present, many apps are: they cannot be used without providing the information we want.

Zhenai.com even needs to collect user face information.

"Only you can't think of it

", APP

violations are varied

The reporter also sorted out the violations of these APPs, which can be described as "various". Only you can't think of it, and you can't do it without them.

Including but not limited to collecting and using personal information in violation of regulations; compulsory, frequent, and excessive requesting of permissions; difficult account cancellation; inadequate indication of APP information on the application distribution platform; deception and misleading users to download APP; forcing users to use targeted push functions; deception and misleading Users provide personal information, collect facial information, etc.

In response to excessive claims for APP rights, in addition to some mandatory provisions, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also publicly solicits opinions on the "Interim Provisions on the Management of Personal Information Protection and Management of Mobile Internet Applications (Draft for Comment)". It is proposed that users shall not be allowed to refuse relevant authorization applications. Force to quit or close the APP.

As far as the current situation is concerned, almost no APP has been implemented. As long as the user does not agree to the authorization, the APP will immediately exit or cannot be used normally, and there is no "next step".

In fact, the user can only passively choose "agree".

  Have you encountered these situations?
