  Chinanews client, May 17 (Reporter Li Jinlei) On May 17, the National Bureau of Statistics released China's economic data for April.

In April, the national consumer prices rose by 0.9% year-on-year, an increase of 0.5 percentage points over March; and a month-on-month decrease of 0.3%.

In food, tobacco and alcohol prices, pork fell by 21.4%, fresh vegetables fell by 1.3%, grain rose by 1.1%, and fresh fruits rose by 2.7%.
