Regarding the medium- to long-term energy policy policy "Basic Energy Plan" of the country where discussions for revision are proceeding, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided on the ratio of renewable energy such as solar power in the power source composition in 2030, which is the focus. We are making adjustments to raise the rate to the upper 30% range.

The current basic energy plan formulated three years ago is to increase the power source composition in 2030 to 22% to 24% for renewable energy such as solar power, 20% to 22% for nuclear power, and 56% for thermal power. I am aiming for.

This review focuses on showing a consistent power mix as the government has set a new goal of reducing greenhouse gases by 46% towards 2030 compared to 2013. ..

Regarding this, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has adjusted to raise the ratio to the high 30% range, saying that expanding the introduction of renewable energy is indispensable for reducing greenhouse gases.

On the other hand, nuclear power will maintain the level of the current plan, and thermal power will be reduced mainly to coal-fired power, and it is expected to be reduced to about 40%.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry aims to present the draft plan next month, and is coordinating with related ministries and industries, and hopes to make a formal decision this summer.

However, in order to expand solar power generation, it is necessary to introduce it in large quantities in a limited area, and there is a concern that the burden on the people will increase, so the feasibility of the nuclear power plant will be questioned.
