The Colonial company has paid almost five million dollars (about 4 million euros) to Russian cybercriminals who 'hijacked' its computer systems and closed the pipeline that supplies gasoline for cars and planes to the entire eastern United States.
This was revealed by the Bloomberg news agency, contradicting the company's information, which insisted that it had not made any payment.
The transfer was also made in cryptocurrencies, which are very different.
