In Jerusalem, after a weekend of violence, where there were nearly 300 wounded Palestinians, calm is only an appearance.
Just last night, the Israeli army and police violently repressed and arrested activists from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and arrested around 20 people in Jerusalem itself.
Today there are fears of further escalation, as thousands of Jewish supremacists celebrate “Jerusalem Day,” their annual march to celebrate Israel's annexation of the holy city.

This Monday, May 10 in the morning, on the Esplanade des Mosques, there were shots, dozens and dozens of stun grenades and tear gas, thrown by the police and the Israeli army on the Palestinian faithful.
There is gunfire even inside the Al Aqsa Mosque.
A Palestinian died this morning, dozens more are injured, as medical teams from the Palestinian Red Crescent are denied immediate access to the plaza by Israel.
Illusionary calm
In fact, in Jerusalem, the calm - only returned during the day this weekend - is only an illusion.
Every evening, in Sheikh Jarrah, a predominantly Palestinian neighborhood in East Jerusalem, located two kilometers north of the old city, the Israeli army and police repress and arrest activists who have come to support the residents.
Judicial battle
This is the origin of the anger in Jerusalem.
Four Palestinian families threatened with forced displacement from their own homes to the benefit of Israeli settlers, a legal battle that has lasted for fifty years.
And the postponement of the Supreme Court's verdict is far from a victory for these Palestinians.
Yesterday, demonstrations took place everywhere last night: Haifa, Nazareth, or Ramallah.
