Used car prices in Germany have come under further pressure due to the lockdown in the first quarter.

This is shown by data from DAT, which is available to WELT AM SONNTAG.

The drop in prices mainly affects electric cars.

In March, the average sales price for a three-year electric car fell to 50.5 percent of the list price.

Most recently, the price had reached an all-time low of 50.6 percent in December.

The statistics are based on the real asking prices in retail for cars with 15,000 to 20,000 kilometers of mileage per year.

According to the information, 53 percent of the list price was paid for diesel vehicles in March and 55.6 percent for gasoline vehicles.

The value of used electric cars has fallen significantly, among other things due to the high government purchase premiums and technical progress in newer models.
