Dubai Customs strengthened cooperation and joint coordination with trademark owners in the field of protecting intellectual property rights. The Department of Intellectual Property Rights Protection in the department held a joint meeting with owners of trademarks and commercial agencies through visual communication technology to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides and support joint projects to protect intellectual property rights. And developing action plans in the field of intellectual property for the post-"Covid-19" period.

The meeting was attended by Dubai Customs, Director of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department, Youssef Uzair Mubarak, Director of the Intellectual Property Approval and Commercial Agencies Department, Norah Ahmed, Director of the Intellectual Property Dispute Resolution Department, Mohammed bin Nasser, Team Leader, Engineer Saeed bin Faris, and an Approval Officer Intellectual property and commercial agencies, Samiha Hassan Al-Balushi.

The meeting was attended by a representative of trademark owners, Director of the Trademark Owners Council, Malek Hanouf, in addition to approximately 29 law firms and legal services offices.

Youssef Uzair Mubarak welcomed trademark owners participating in the meeting, stressing the importance of communication and cooperation between government agencies and the private sector to exchange views, as this meeting culminates in the department's efforts in the field of protecting intellectual property rights in light of the celebration of the UAE's golden jubilee in the year of fifty. The state, over the past fifty years, has made great achievements in all fields thanks to the vision of the wise leadership and its constant support to encourage creativity and innovation, and its keenness to protect the intellectual property rights of investors and trademark owners to attract trade and investment to the national economy at an increasing pace.

He explained that Dubai Customs is keen to adopt and launch initiatives that keep pace with international best practices in the field of customer support and happiness, in implementation of the directives of the Dubai government that aim to make people happy by improving the level of government services by developing and using the latest technologies in providing services to customers and the public.

Norah Ahmed led the dialogue with trademark owners, which focused on addressing all obstacles and challenges in order to achieve the goals of protecting intellectual property rights while absorbing the lessons learned in the "Covid-19" pandemic in developing action plans in the field of intellectual property for the post-"Covid-19" stage. .

Malek Hanouf expressed his great appreciation for the efforts of Dubai Customs in the field of protecting intellectual property rights and combating counterfeit goods for the goods of trademark owners.
