Meal supplier HelloFresh is benefiting from the corona pandemic.
In the first quarter of this year, the company had three million more customers than a year earlier and delivered 98.6 percent more meal boxes.
Turnover doubled to 1.4 billion euros.
Because the hospitality industry was closed almost all over the world for the entire first quarter, people are looking for alternatives.
They see HelloFresh, which puts out a box with fresh vegetables and recipes every week, as a good alternative to cooking yourself.
The company has benefited from this during this pandemic.
HelloFresh now has 7.3 million customers and delivered 29.3 million boxes in the first quarter.
The number of orders per customer also increased: from 3.5 to 4. Turnover rose by 106.4 percent to EUR 1.4 billion.
The profit grew by 152.3 percent to 159.2 million euros and amounts to 11 percent of the turnover.
For the full year, the meal supplier increased its outlook.
Sales will grow 35 to 45 percent, up from 20 to 25 percent before, and profits will be 10 to 12 percent of sales.
Previously, HelloFresh assumed a profit margin of 9 to 12 percent.
