Emirates Aviation University received an air tunnel with a grant from the Boeing Middle East Company.

A statement issued yesterday stated that the wind tunnel will provide students with practical and experimental educational opportunities to test the airflow around aircraft structures, vehicles and other equipment, explaining that more than 400 engineering students in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Emirates Aviation University will benefit from this new addition that strengthens the programs. As an educational tool, the wind tunnel will enable them to perform tests under various simulations of wind strength.

He explained that the wind tunnel would enhance the educational curriculum of the College of Engineering, which is based on providing practical experience and research opportunities related to undergraduate programs, such as space engine design and experimental techniques, aerospace dynamics and stability, as well as master's programs, such as computational fluid dynamics, engineering analysis and simulation. Flight dynamics and simulation, and the new wind tunnel will enrich educational courses by visualizing air flow over aircraft wings and structures, for example, and calculating numbers such as pressure, lift and drag.

The director of the Emirates Aviation University, Dr. Ahmed Al Ali, considered the wind tunnel a distinct addition to the educational programs, as it will contribute to enhancing students' academic knowledge and provide them with practical experience based on concrete experiences in simulation.

Bernard Dunn, President of Boeing for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, said: “We have been cooperating with Emirates Aviation University since 2017, as part of our commitment to support the future workforce in the UAE, and together we test new opportunities to enhance experiential education every year.”

The wind tunnel is one of the many community cooperation projects and training resources for Emirates Aviation University, in cooperation with Boeing since 2017.
