[Explanation] Yang Akai, who is over 60 years old, is from Taichung City, Taiwan. After getting married with his wife in Renshou County, Sichuan many years ago, he came to Sichuan to develop and engage in import and export trade with his wife.

Until 2019, because of his experience in fruit planting and Sichuan’s vigorous promotion of rural revitalization, he and his wife hit it off and decided to develop a tropical fruit plantation in Chengdu.

　　In late April, the reporter came to the Taiwan fruit plantation in the Pidu District of Chengdu and met Yang Akai who was busy in the park.

Yang Akai told reporters that the Taiwan pineapples just planted are still under observation, and the well-growing dragon fruit trees are growing new branches, and the avocado and passion fruit are about to bear fruit.

　　Tropical fruits are because we were doing agriculture in Taiwan before. Then we came to Sichuan and felt the agriculture and the development of agriculture. This is a very good project. Then we put some of Taiwan’s better varieties and new varieties. I brought them here for trial planting. The result was planted last year. Dragon fruit is very delicious, passion fruit is also very fragrant, very delicious, because the temperature difference here is relatively large, and the sweetness of the fruit is very good.

　　In the winter of 2020, affected by the rare low-temperature weather, the temperature of Yang Akai’s plantation reached a minimum of minus 6 degrees Celsius. Many dragon fruit saplings were frozen to death, causing considerable losses.

　　Then at the end of last year, it was because the weather here was too cold. As a result, some of the dragon fruit passion fruit suffered frostbite, and the loss was quite a lot. About hundreds of thousands of seedlings were all frostbite and frozen to death. .

　　This year I saw the news that Taiwan pineapple (due to diseases and insect pests) cannot enter the mainland, and then we wanted to say, because we have some experience in growing pineapples. Since there are such good fruits, we will introduce it to our Sichuan. Come to plant, try planting.

We have tried planting. If we can try planting successfully next year, we will promote this variety more generally, so that all friends in Sichuan can taste this good thing, good variety, this kind of Taiwan. The pineapple can drive it like this.
