Non-life insurance giant Sompo Japan announced that it has found a case where it accidentally paid a small amount of insurance money for automobile insurance.

Because it did not reflect the contents of the special contract, it is expected to pay at least about 1100 cases, a total of about 55 million yen.

The person in charge overlooks the special contract

According to Sompo Japan, in February, a customer inquiry revealed that they were paying less automobile insurance than they should have been.

According to the company's investigation, the person in charge overlooked a special contract to eliminate the out-of-pocket cost for car and motorcycle accidents, and the payment was completed from April to December last year, totaling about 72 cases. It means that he paid 3.6 million yen less than he should have.

It is expected that at least about 1100 cases will be paid less than the original insurance money due to the same mistake, and the total amount will be about 55 million yen, and we will pay the policyholders in the future.

To prevent recurrence, he said that he would introduce a new check function to the insurance money system within this fiscal year, and commented, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused."
