The Government takes another step in its war against banks and directly threatens to maneuver to cap the salaries of bank executives in the midst of a wave of personnel adjustments. The Vice President of Economic Affairs,

Nadia Calviño,

announced this Thursday that she has already put the matter in the hands of the Bank of Spain and is analyzing the instruments that are in her hand to link the remuneration to the current state of the economy.

"

I believe that the salaries and bonuses of bank executives must be aligned with the evolution of the sector and the economy as a whole," he explained in a meeting held with foreign correspondents collected by the agencies Bloomberg and Reuters.

"We have expressed this concern to the

Bank of Spain

and we are going to use the instruments at our disposal to try to channel this process in the way that is the best possible for economic evolution," insisted the economic head of the Government.

However, the role of the financial supervisor is currently very limited to monitoring the levels of solvency, liquidity and stability of the system.
