High food and beverage prices in Dubai during the first week of Ramadan

The Dubai Statistics Center stated that the price index of the food and beverage section increased by 0.32% during the first week of Ramadan, compared to the last week of the previous month of Shaaban.

The center stated, in a report, that this came as a result of the increase in the prices of each of: the vegetable group by 4.36%, the fish and seafood group by 3.54%, the tea and coffee group by 1.20%, and the sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets group by 0.02%.

On the other hand, he added, the prices of the fruits group decreased by 1.39%, the food group not classified under another item by 1.18%, the milk, cheese and eggs group by 0.51%, the oils and fats group by 0.44%, and the group of bread and grains and their products by 0.15%. The meat group by 0.15%, while the prices of the group of mineral water, soft drinks and juices remained stable.
