The retail price of regular gasoline this week was 150.4 yen per liter on a national average, flat from last week.

According to the Petroleum Information Center, which is entrusted by the government to investigate gasoline prices, the retail price of regular gasoline as of 19th was 150.4 yen per liter on a national average, leveling off from last week.

The retail price of regular gasoline has risen for 18 consecutive weeks until three weeks ago due to the rise in crude oil prices due to expectations for the spread of the new coronavirus vaccine.

However, there are persistent concerns that the spread of the infection will affect the economy, and the retail price of regular gasoline has leveled off for the first time in two weeks, as the rise in crude oil prices has subsided recently.

Regarding the outlook for the future, the Oil Information Center said, "Crude oil prices are currently rising, and next week's gasoline prices are expected to rise slightly."
