ADNOC Logistics and Services, the shipping and marine logistics arm of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), announced the acquisition of two giant crude oil tankers, noting that with this acquisition, the number of giant oil tankers acquired during 2021 reached eight tankers. , Adding 16 million barrels to crude oil's cargo capacity.

The company said in a statement yesterday that the acquisitions include a new giant oil tanker equipped with double-fuel technology, which is expected to be delivered during the first quarter of 2023, and another tanker is scheduled to join the fleet in the second quarter of this year.

She stated that the expansion of the fleet of giant oil tankers plays an important role in supporting the Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Exchange for Murban Crude Futures, which is expected to boost trading in Murban crude and enable it to reach new customers and markets around the world.

The launch of the Murban futures contract will enable ADNOC Supplies and Services to better utilize vessel capacity in the crude oil sector.

ADNOC Logistics and Services’s building of shipping capacity supports the ADNOC Group’s goal of increasing production by 25% to five million barrels per day by 2030.
