The National Assembly recently adopted two pieces of legislation making it compulsory in public car parks to install recharging points for electric vehicles.

The amendment to the law to fight against climate change presented on March 25 by the deputy Jean-Marc Zulesi was adopted, reports the site

The proposal of the elected LREM of Bouches-du-Rhône targets spaces with more than 20 places.

The car parks concerned must be equipped with at least one electric terminal, the positioning of which will allow the use by people with reduced mobility.

Before January 1, 2025

The law applies to “parking lots managed by delegation of public service or via a public market”.

In total, those responsible for these car parks will have to set up a terminal for each section of 20 available parking spaces.

The government in turn tabled a subamendment to the member's text on April 6.

The National Assembly voted for the State's initiative to include a deadline for setting up charging stations with the measure.

The modification approved by the deputies thus added an obligation to have made the adjustments no later than January 1, 2025.

It is up to the communities to distribute

In the initial amendment of the majority deputy, the addition of the terminals was to be done at the time of the "renewal of the delegation or of the market".

The communities in charge of the public car parks concerned will be able to distribute the equipment intended for electric and rechargeable hybrid vehicles among the various parking spaces that they manage.

“There will soon be charging stations in all public car parks!

“, Welcomed on April 10 on Twitter the Minister Delegate in charge of Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari on the subject of the amendment.
