Dubai Economy: Covering the restaurant frontage in Ramadan is optional

Dubai Economy said that the special circular regarding the provision of restaurants in Dubai to provide their services during the fasting periods in the month of Ramadan is an optional decision.

Stressing that the circular gives restaurant departments operating in the

emirate the option to cover restaurants with curtains or remove them during the period of providing food to consumers during fasting hours.

The circular comes to replace a previous circular in place for years that required restaurants and establishments to install curtains or cover façades as a condition for serving food during fasting periods in the month of Ramadan.

Dubai Economy said that the new circular came into effect today, corresponding to April 13, 2021, which corresponds to the first day of the month of Ramadan, without prior permission from Dubai Economy.

Confirming that it is in line with the usual practices in force in this regard in restaurants operating in the Emirate of Dubai.
