The meeting concluded that this year, wheat stripe rust in Southwest China, Hanshui River Basin, southern Huanghuai and other areas of winter propagation of wheat stripe rust have many bacteria sources, early occurrence and widespread disease.
Since last winter, the agricultural and rural departments at all levels have taken the initiative to take the initiative and acted actively, taking measures such as "taking drugs to investigate, discovering a little, and preventing one" to protect their faces, and increase unified prevention and control measures, and prevention and control have achieved initial results.
As of April 13, the country’s stripe rust had an area of 12 million mu, involving 10 provinces and more than 400 counties (cities, districts).
Since late March, the disease has moved significantly northward and eastward along with the air currents, and the scope of the disease has been significantly larger than normal. The potential for widespread epidemics in wheat areas such as Huanghuaihai and other wheat areas is still large. The task of prevention and control is still arduous, and the prevention and control work cannot be relaxed at all.
The meeting pointed out that wheat stripe rust is a major disease that spreads across regions along with air currents. Once a large-scale epidemic is harmful, it will directly affect the high and stable production of wheat. Joint monitoring and regional management must be adhered to.
In the Hanshui River Basin, southern Huanghuai and other areas where wheat epidemics have already occurred, it is necessary to increase the "preservation" of scattered occurrence areas, centralized prevention and control of contiguous areas, reduce local hazards, and reduce the source of exogenous bacteria; Huanghuaihai, etc. In areas where epidemic wheat occurs, we must adhere to the “advance of the barrier, early treatment of small ones”, strict control of disease centers, timely organization of unified prevention and control, and emergency prevention and control, to ensure that the disease does not spread to a large area, and to ensure that the damage loss is controlled within 5%.
The meeting emphasized that the period from mid-to-late April to early May is a critical period for the prevention and control of wheat stripe rust. Agricultural and rural departments at all levels must act quickly, strengthen organization and launch, and implement detailed prevention and control measures.
