“I don’t think there will be a complete transition to trade in national currencies, because business chooses the model that suits them,” Gruzdev quotes TASS.

According to him, at the same time, stability in trade relations will contribute to a greater share of settlements in national currencies.

He noted that today there is a "consistent growth of settlements in national currencies" between Russia and China and the gradual replacement of the dollar.

“This is not an explosive growth, but it is consistent,” added Gruzdev.

On March 22, the head of the Russian-Chinese Analytical Center, a member of the RIAC, Sergei Sanakoev, assessed the prospects for Russia and China to switch to settlements in national currencies.
