Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kajiyama met with US Secretary of Commerce Lemond over the phone and confirmed that he would cooperate in strengthening the semiconductor supply network, which is facing a global shortage.

Minister Kajiyama held his first telephone conversation with US Secretary of Commerce Lemond, who took office last month, for about 30 minutes on the night of the 8th of Japan time.



Among them, Minister Kajiyama and Secretary of Commerce Lemond share the recognition that it is important to strengthen the supply chain = supply network for semiconductors, for which global shortages are an issue, and Japan and the United States will cooperate. I confirmed the policy.



We also exchanged opinions on export control and energy / environmental fields, and confirmed our policy of cooperating in the development of next-generation energy technology as a response to climate change issues.



At the Japan-US summit meeting held on the 16th of this month, discussions will be held on strengthening the supply chain and climate change.
