After smartphones, connected objects of all kinds and scooters, Xiaomi's ambition is to design electric cars.

A ten billion dollar investment plan over ten years has already been presented by the Chinese brand, but little information had been revealed on these future cars.

On the occasion of Xiaomi's 11th anniversary, the CEO of the brand Lei Jun has, however, provided some details on these vehicles, reports

In a video broadcast live on Chinese social network Weibo, he said the brand's first electric car would either be an SUV or a sedan.

At the same time, Lei Jun explained that the price of this first model of Xiaomi electric vehicle is expected to be between 100,000 and 300,000 yuan, or around 12,800 to 38,600 euros excluding tax, depending on the options.

Before revealing this little information, the CEO had conducted several surveys on consumer expectations on the subject.

He asked them in particular whether they preferred the vehicle to appear under the Xiaomi brand or under a new brand specially created for the occasion.
