Netflix stops offering a one-month free trial service for domestic users.

Global OTT, or online video service Netflix, has ended its '30-day free trial' service from today (7th).

It has been 5 years since the official service started in Korea in January 2016, and it is reported that the free trial has ended in advance to domestic affiliates such as KT and LG Uplus.

Netflix has increased rapidly worldwide since the spread of Corona 19, and as of the end of last year, the number of paid subscribers in the world reached 236 million, and it is estimated that the number of users in Korea as of the end of February has more than doubled in a year to 10 million. .

Netflix has recently been focusing on enhancing profitability in countries around the world by raising rates and preventing account sharing.

Currently, domestic rates are 9,500 won to 14,500 won per month, which is why there is a prospect that the domestic rate will be raised sooner or later.

Netflix's official position is that there are no plans to increase rates in Korea so far.

However, in order to prevent unauthorized viewing, it is known that a policy test to prevent account sharing is conducted.
