His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, in his capacity as Chairman of the Dubai International Financial Center, has approved the appointment of Fadel Al Ali as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
The appointment of Fadel Al Ali comes after the retirement of Saeb Aigner on June 1, 2021, where, over the 17 years since his appointment in the Dubai Financial Services Authority, he has contributed to strengthening its position as an effective and independent regulator of financial services in the Emirate of Dubai, and preserving the leading position of the DIFC in the region and at the level. International.
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed said: “Saeb has contributed over 17 years in developing independent systems and standards that have established a global reputation and confidence in the DIFC .. We have high confidence in Brother Fadhel Al-Ali, and he is optimistic about his developmental role in the Dubai Financial Services Authority.”
Fadhil Al-Ali has held the positions of Vice Chairman of the Dubai Financial Services Authority, Deputy CEO and Head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Sector at First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Director of the Dubai Energy Company.
He also held several positions in Dubai Holding Company, including CEO, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Real Estate Group and Dubai International Company, in addition to being a member of many other boards.
