  Alashankou Port, located at the junction of China and Kazakhstan, is one of the land ports with the largest and busiest cargo throughput in my country.

With the advancement of the “Belt and Road” construction, the number of China-Europe Express trains entering and leaving the country via the Alashankou port has been increasing year by year.

Since last year, due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, sea and air transportation have encountered obstacles. With the unique advantages of fast timeliness, all-weather, and segmented transportation, the number of trains entering and leaving the country through the Alashankou port has repeatedly set records.

In 2020, the number of China-Europe (Central Asia) trains entering and leaving the country via Alashankou Port will reach 5,027, a year-on-year increase of 40.1%.

This year, as of March 21, the number of China-Europe freight trains entering and leaving the Alashankou port reached 1,192.

  In order to improve efficiency and make the train "faster", Alashankou Station has adopted the measures of "prioritized marshalling, prioritized transportation, and prioritized departure" to ensure uninterrupted delivery of China-Europe trains.

Since the beginning of this year, there have been 11 trains entering China and Europe via Alashankou Station.

  In the indoor container reloading depot of Alashankou Station, overhead cranes are stepping up operations under the command of freightmen.

Alashankou is one of the most famous tuyere in our country, with strong winds above level 8 all the year round.

In order to solve the problem that containers cannot be reloaded due to strong winds and improve the efficiency of port cargo transfer, the indoor container reloading warehouse was completed in 2008, with a construction area of ​​22,600 square meters, and 4 40-ton bridge cranes, which were realized in the warehouse.   In order to better serve the high-quality development of China-Europe freight trains, Alashankou Customs and Railway has set up special windows for China-Europe freight trains and opened up green channels to achieve 24-hour service on-the-spot service and priority throughout the entire process.

Last year, Alashankou Customs also jointly promoted the "digital port" system with the railway department to realize the automatic review of the "second-level release" by the China-Europe freight train import transit data system, and the export freight train transfer verification procedures can be completed within 20 minutes.

China-Europe Express trains have become more mature and customs procedures have become more convenient.

"This year, we will implement automatic verification and write-off for export transfers, and release in seconds. At the same time, we will promote the railway express mode to further simplify the procedures for enterprises in customs."

  During the interview, the reporter learned that the China-Europe Express has also driven the vigorous development of new forms of cross-border e-commerce at ports.

Since the first cross-border e-commerce at Alashankou Port in January 2020, cross-border e-commerce parcels have shown explosive growth, with the maximum number of packages exceeding 10 million in a single month.

According to statistics from Alashankou Customs, as of the end of February this year, the customs has supervised over 45.42 million exported packages with a value of more than 133 million U.S. dollars, including electronic products, clothing, daily necessities and other cross-border e-commerce packages exported to many European countries.
