Households have never wanted to improve their interior so much.

Painting, decoration, DIY, everything is good as long as it makes life more comfortable.

The French have spent most of their time at home for more than a year because of the coronavirus epidemic.

What to review its budgetary priorities to develop a beautiful interior while waiting to be able to find a normal life.

Proof of this is that surveys on the desire for interior work are increasing.

Unconditional handymen

In January, a survey by the digital real estate agency Liberkeys announced that nearly 1 in 4 French people were considering moving, while 52% who did not wish to do so planned to renovate their home.

And even more than energy savings (21%), it is the desire for daily comfort that was at the top of the motivations (67%) of the participants.

Rather than calling on professionals, households would also be adept at

do-it-yourself

, according to a study carried out by the site Permettremoideconstruire.fr, published at the end of February.

Almost 36% of those surveyed said that they carried out their work alone, limiting the use of craftsmen to certain specific tasks.

These Sunday handymen take care of renovating the floors and walls themselves (39%), landscaping the garden (23%) and even creating openings, among other masonry and construction work (22%).

More delicate, electrical projects (14%) and especially plumbing and heating (3%), on the other hand, are not very suitable for home-made.

Beyond an attraction for renovation (28%), it is no surprise in the objective of limiting the cost of the work that the French are rolling up their sleeves (60%).
