The UAE is among the top 20 globally in 11 investment indicators during 2020

The recent data monitored by the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics documented that the indicators of international competitiveness in the field of investment agree on the classification of the UAE among the top 20 in 11 indicators in the investment sector, which reflects the continuous cumulative performance and the eligibility for the sustainability of the comprehensive development achieved by the state over the past period.

The investment index monitored by the center presented a summary of what was agreed upon by periodic international reports, including the Global Talent Competitiveness Index issued by INSEAD, the “Legatum” Institute's Prosperity Index, and the Global Competitiveness Yearbook issued by the International Institute for Administrative Development.

Monitoring the competitive achievement in the various investment axes shows that the UAE ranked 15th in the "foreign direct investment and technology transfer" axis, and the 15th in the "investment premium in the business environment at risk."

The state also ranked 12th in the "prevalence of foreign ownership of companies," and 18th in "the balance of direct investment flows", and ranked 17th in "the ratio of these flows to the gross domestic product."

The UAE also ranked 18th in "the balance of investment flows" and "direct investment abroad", while it ranked 15th in "direct investment inflows in proportion to the gross domestic product."

International indices gave the UAE an advanced position, as it ranked seventh in "investment incentives", ranked 13 in the "stock market", and ranked 19 in "stock index."

"Investment" is a detailed part of the global economic competitiveness indicators, which have all agreed over the past five years that the UAE economy is ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa, noting the degree of stability and sustainability.

The report of the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2020, issued by the Global Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Administrative Development in Lausanne, Switzerland, ranked the UAE ninth in the world among the most competitive countries in the world, thus remaining the only Arab country that succeeded in reserving its position in the club of 10 Big Boys for four years in a row, since joining the top 10 in 2017.
