"Rotana Hotel Management" confirmed that domestic tourism has witnessed a remarkable recovery during the last period. It expects that its 35 hotels will register in the UAE market, which includes 1012 hotel rooms, with occupancy rates ranging between 70 and 90% during the spring vacation.

The company stated to "Emirates Today" that most of its employees in its hotels in the Emirates received two doses of the vaccine against the "Corona" virus, while following the highest health and safety standards and applying all preventive measures, noting that it closely follows all government directives and updates related to the global pandemic.

It revealed that it plans to open eight new hotels within the strategic markets, including the UAE market, to add more than 2,650 new hotel rooms to its global portfolio.

In detail, Guy Hutchinson, President and CEO of "Rotana Hotel Management", said that domestic tourism has witnessed a remarkable recovery during the last period, referring to the government promotional campaigns that contributed to highlighting the most prominent tourist destinations in all parts of the Emirates.

He continued: “On our part, we seek to attract those looking for a haven for entertainment during the spring vacation period, by providing various hotel services throughout the Emirates, which include rooms, suites and villas, as well as leisure and recreation facilities, swimming pools and private beaches, which are strengthened by them. Expectations of 'occupancy'

Hutchinson expects that the group's hotels in the country will record occupancy rates ranging between 70 and 90% during the spring vacation, and that the beach hotel resorts in Abu Dhabi will record an occupancy rate of 80%, and the hotels in the city center of 75%, while the resorts of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are expected to register between 85 and 90 %, And in Dubai, 70%.

Group expansions

With regard to the expansion of "Rotana" in the local and regional markets, Hutchinson said: “We have a diversified hotel portfolio that includes brands: (Rotana Hotels and Resorts), (Centro by Rotana) hotels and resorts (Rayhaan by Rotana), and (Arjaan Hotel Apartments from Rotana) and (The Residence by Rotana).

He added: “With regard to the local market, we are continuing our expansion plans. In November 2020, we opened the (Al Jaddaf Rotana) Hotel in Dubai, as part of the enhancement of the Group’s presence in the UAE and the development of the hospitality sector in the country, thus managing (Rotana) today. There are 35 hotels in the UAE, which comprise a total of 1012 hotel rooms.

He revealed the signing of an agreement to manage a new hotel under the hotel brand "Rotana Hotels and Resorts", which will include 295 luxurious hotel rooms, while it is expected to open its doors in Dubai in 2023.

Global portfolio

Hutchinson added, “The group’s hotel portfolio in the world includes 106 hotels, while Rotana currently operates 17,806 hotel rooms in 24 cities across 14 countries in the Gulf region, the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe.” He said, “Our sustainable plan includes strengthening our regional presence. During the next three years, eight new hotels will be opened within the strategic markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

He stressed that this expansion in the hospitality market will add more than 2,650 new hotel rooms, pointing out that the group will open a new hotel in Saudi Arabia under the five-star Rayhaan Hotels and Resorts brand during the third quarter of 2021, and explained that Rotana has signed an opening agreement. A new hotel in the Bahraini capital, Manama, under the sign: «The Residence by Rotana», while the hotel is scheduled to open in 2022, and a new hotel will also be opened in Bahrain under the «Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana» during 2023.

He added: “In continuation of government efforts, we have directed employees at all (Rotana) hotels in the Emirates to receive the vaccine, especially administrators and workers in front offices, in the service and management departments of rooms and in restaurants, and most of the employees have already received the two doses of the vaccine, and we are closely following all Government directives and updates related to the global pandemic ».
