  According to the "Notice", in the fourth quarter of 2020, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and its dispatched offices received and forwarded 26,688 insurance consumption complaints involving insurance companies, a year-on-year increase of 22.82%.

Among them, there were 11993 cases involving property insurance companies, an increase of 13.86% year-on-year, accounting for 44.94% of the total number of complaints; 14,695 cases involving life insurance companies, an increase of 31.25% year-on-year, accounting for 55.06% of the total number of complaints.

  In the fourth quarter of 2020, the median number of complaints against property insurance companies per 100 million yuan in premiums was 5.18 per 100 million, the median number of complaints against 10,000 policies was 0.39 per 10,000; the median number of complaints against personal insurance companies over 100 million yuan in premiums The number of complaints was 2.01 cases/100 million yuan, the median of 10,000 policy complaints was 0.20 cases/10,000, and the median of 10,000 complaints was 0.08 cases/10,000.

  Property insurance companies involved 6,686 complaints about motor vehicle insurance disputes, accounting for 55.75% of the total number of complaints from property insurance companies; 1665 complaints about guarantee insurance disputes, accounting for 13.88%.
