“Murban crude” constitutes a key element in ADNOC Distribution’s sales of high quality fuel and lubricants through its network of 445 service stations, while “Murban” is the main fuel for all daily flights to and from the UAE.
Since “Murban Crude” was first discovered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 1958, it has contributed to advancing the country's economy, promoting the process of prosperity, creating job opportunities and promoting social and economic development.
Acting CEO of ADNOC Distribution, Ahmed Al Shamsi, said: “Working alongside our main shareholder (ADNOC) has allowed us the opportunity to provide our customers with world-class fuels and lubricants, making them confident when they refuel at our stations that they are getting fuel grade. It is noteworthy that, following the announcement of the start of trading in Murban crude futures on March 29, ADNOC’s main crude oil is now widely available to customers around the world.

The high-quality Murban crude produced by ADNOC Onshore using low carbon-intensity production techniques, constitutes the largest part of the UAE's oil production, as the total production capacity of Murban crude is about two million barrels per day.
ADNOC Distribution fuel is refined by ADNOC Refining in the Ruwais Derivatives Complex in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, where Murban crude is the primary raw material.
“ADNOC Distribution” products are manufactured from base oils from the second and third groups used in the manufacture of lubricant oils at the “Ruwais Complex” as well. “ADNOC Distribution” uses base oils in the ADNOC Oil Blending and Packaging Factory in which high-quality grease products are manufactured for sale through Service stations spread across the country and for export.
