Recently, amid growing social distrust in public institutions-led projects due to land speculation by LH employees, the government today (31st) unveiled 21 candidate areas for building houses in Seoul through public development.

They are mainly close to subway stations, semi-industrial areas, and many places with low floors.

All of these candidate areas have been applied by local governments, and in order for the business to actually take place, you need to get the consent of the residents.

The first news, this is reporter Jeong Seong-jin.

It is a housing complex opposite Yeongdeungpo Station in Seoul.

In most of the old houses on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the road is narrow, making it inconvenient for vehicles to pass.

These aging station areas, semi-industrial areas, and 21 low-rise residential areas have been designated as candidates for urban public housing complex projects.

There are 9 station areas including Yeongdeungpo Station and Gasan Digital Complex in four districts in Dobong, Eunpyeong, Yeongdeungpo, and Geumcheon, 10 low-rise residential areas such as Yeongdeungpo Singil-dong and Eunpyeong Susaek-dong, which are old new town areas, and 2 semi-industrial areas such as Dobong Chang-dong.

ratio by up to 700% and reducing the burden of residents such as donations, earning up to 30%p more profit than when entrusted to private development The government was optimistic about the participation of the residents.

However, all 21 candidate sites were not proposed by residents, but were applied by local governments.

Until the actual project is approved, more than two-thirds of the land and building owners must obtain consent, but there are opposition to public development in which there are many residents who make profits through commercial tenants in housing complexes in the station area.

LH speculation suspicion, the re-election of the mayor of Seoul coming a week in the future is also a variable.

[Kim Myung-hee/Former Singil District 2 Resident Representative: We are in a state of private (redevelopment) application.

(Residents) distrust the public a little, and LH (speculation) is there, so (I am worried.)] The

government intensively investigates speculative transactions for candidate sites, while revealing additional candidate sites four to five times by July. I plan to do it.
